Performance of Choreography	Needs Improvement Group is unsure of steps in teacher's phrase and makes several mistakes.	Satisfactory Group knows majority of choreography with only a couple of mistakes.	Excellent Group performs with confidence and makes little to no mistakes.
Levels	Needs Improvement Group uses 1 level through out entire dance.	Satisfactory Group uses the 3 different levels but favors either low, mid or high.	Excellent Groups uses a wide variety and interesting mix of levels.
Pathways/Use of space	Needs Improvement Only one pathway is used in the dance when entering, exiting or traveling within the dance. Group traveled in only one direction and did not utilize stage space.	Satisfactory At least 2-3 pathways are used in the dance. Group used	Excellent An interesting variety of pathways are used in the dance. Group used a variety of ways to enter, exit and travel on stage.
Formations	Needs Improvement Group uses 2 formations. Formations were not clear and group did not maintain formation throughout choreography.	Satisfactory Group uses at least 2 different formations throughout the dance. Formation was somewhat clear and mostly maintained throughout choreography. Transitions	Needs Improvement There are almost no smooth transitions between movements. Group occasionally pauses between movements.	Satisfactory Most of the movements transitions smoothly with a few bumps along the way.	Excellent Dance transitions smoothly from one movement to the next with no bumps.
Relationship to Poems	Needs Improvement Movement choices made do not clearly reflect subjects of poems. Little effort was made to develop movement.	Satisfactory Most movement choices reflect vocabulary used in poem. Effort was made to develop movement and use in different ways.	Excellent A clear connection to subjects of poems can be seen throughout dance. Movement was developed and manipulated in multiple and creative ways.
