Family Portraits Student will paint a picture of themselves with a family member depicting an activity, celebration or cultural aspect of their family. This aligns to the NYCDOE Scope and Sequence: ELA CCLS:	Secure Student completed the painting, including themselves, one or more family members, and an activity, celebration or cultural aspect of their family.	Developing Student painted "self", but omitted their family members and/or the activity, celebration or cultural aspect of their family is unclear.	Beginning Student may have either painted themselves or a family member(s), but the activity, celebration or cultural aspect of their family is missing or irrelevant.
Informational Text Student will create a label for their painting that identifies people in the painting, activity, celebration or cultural aspect. NYCDOE Scope & Sequence: CCLS:	Secure Label is neatly written and contains the proper spelling of the names of people in painting. Label also contains a sentence contextualizing the scene the painting depicts.	Developing Label may be neatly written and may contain the names of people in painting. Label may contain a sentence and/or few words contextualizing the scene the painting depicts.	Beginning Label may be neatly written, but does not contain the names of people in painting. There are no words and/or sentences contextualizing the scene the painting depicts.
Presentation Student will be able to discuss their painting with their peers and families at the Dream Think Do gallery exhibition.
