Three Branches of Government Puzzle Three Branches of Government Tree Students were required to create a three piece puzzle from 9 x 12 construction paper, free form, put each branch on a different piece and label it with the branch name and who is in that branch and the responsibility of that branch. They were to include a drawing of the building in which the branch takes place. Then cut the puzzle apart but maintain the sections in relationship to each other. Glue it onto a larger sheet of construction paper and title it U.S. National Government Branches. Branches labeled	Poor More than two mistakes in labelling or spelling.	Fair Two mistakes in labelling or spelling.	Good One mistake in labelling or spelling.	Excellent Branches are labeled correctly. Labels are spelled correctly.
Members of branches	Poor No members are associated with branches.	Fair Members are listed; however, they aren't under the correct branches or more than one is not under the correct branch. There are many spelling errors.	Good One member is missing from it's correct branch or there are several spelling errors.	Excellent Each branch contains the correct members and all are spelled correctly.
Presentation	Poor Presentation includes poor use of neatness and color.	Fair Presentation includes fair use of neatness; however, no color is added or coloring is not representative of a third grader.	Good Presentation includes good use of neatness; however, no color is added or coloring lacks effort.	Excellent Presentation includes excellent use of neatness, color and puzzle was broken/ aligned in three pieces.
Title and Puzzle Placement	Poor Title has spelling errors or puzzle pieces don't make connections	Fair Title is spelled correctly; however, puzzle pieces don't make connections	Good Title is spelled correctly and puzzle pieces make connections; however, student effort was somewhat lacking.	Excellent Excellent effort was made in Title and puzzle placement. Student's work shows pride.
