Mixed Media Project 2 :"The Strange" 
Project based on Maggie Taylor's artwork. Students were asked to create a work where reality meets fantasy. They had to create a composition that had unity and balance. They could use almost any material that would work with their time frame. After a presentation to the class and approval from instructor this rubric reflects their success from their presented goals.

The media that students used was helpful to express their ideas and concepts. Student's media in work that allowed the audience to connect to the ideas being presented to them.

Blog should be done after each class and include a synopsis of the day and be accompanied by an image.

Exceeding

Blog is very complete. It shows every stage of the artwork, including a written statement of what happened each day. This is an excellent documentation of the students process and gives the teacher a whole picture of the end result.
Fully Meeting

Blog was completed on time. The student posted both a written statement and an image. The daily written work did not speak to why students made changes or additions to their piece. But it is a good record.

The blog was created but only images were posted had very few written entries about process.

The student did some blogging but not everyday. The blog has very little written about it. It is not a very good documentation of the daily archive that was assigned.

Artwork all comes together in harmony. Colors, textures, line, all work together.
Composition has asymmetry, diagonal, and thirds that properly work on page.
Fully Meeting

Artwork does have very strong areas that stand out in their excellence.

However, there are other areas that do not work in the art. Instead they are a distraction to the overall piece. These areas were talked about in critique.
Meeting

Artwork has at least two parts of composition, the colors and textures work relatively well together. But, there are large gaps in artwork that do not contribute to the harmony of the art piece.

The work has random areas that do not connect to the rest of the piece.
