Volleyball Skills

Forearm Pass/Bump	Poor Never was able to successfully bump the ball.	Fair Sometimes was successful in bumping the ball. Still had some swing in the arms on contact with the ball.	Good Often was successful in bumping the ball but was not consistent. Knees were not bent when contact was made with the ball. Ball did not come off arms evenly.	Excellent Almost always was successful in bumping the ball. Demonstrated bent knees, flat forearms, connected hands, thumbs down, and no swinging arms.
Overhead Pass/Set	Poor Never was able to successfully set the ball.	Fair Sometimes was successful in setting the ball. Sometimes had a "lift" with the ball.	Good Often demonstrated a successful set but was not consistent. Legs were not bent and then extended when contact was made. No "lifts" were made.	Excellent Almost always demonstrated a successful set with hands in a diamond position above the head. Knees were bent and extended on contact with the ball. No "lifts" were made.
Underhand Serve	Poor Never was able to serve the ball over the net from serving line.	Fair Sometimes was able to serve the ball over the net from serving line.	Good Often was able to serve the ball over the net from the serving line. Often served successfully but without aim on the serve.	Excellent Almost always was able to serve the ball over the net from the serving line. Had control over where to place the serve.
Game Rules	Poor Never understood the game rules.	Fair Sometimes understood the game rules.	Good Often demonstrated a clear understanding of the game rules.	Excellent Always demonstrated a clear understanding of the game rules and was able to help others comprehend the rules.
Communication	Poor Never talked on the court.	Fair Sometimes talked on the court.	Good Often talked on the court but not all the time.	Excellent Almost always talked on the court, directing traffic and helping teammates cover their areas.
