Chorus Rehearsal/Concert Performance Rubric- All grades 
This rubric is used to grade students' rehearsal performance as well as Concerts and NYSSMA Majors. For grades 7&8, Weekly lesson attendance counts for 30% of the quarter grade.

Often asks musical questions relating to the task at hand.
Excellent

Usually sings and listens appropriately with minor inconsistancies. Usually leads or follows others appropriately. Sometimes asks musical questions relating to the task at hand
Good

Generally sings and listens appropriately with noticeable off-task inconsistancies. Rarely asks questions relating to the task at hand. Often follows others in his/her section.
Needs Improvement

Often doesn't sing and listen appropriately and cooperate with his/her section as a leader or follower.
Is usually off task or appears aloof. Never asks musical questions relating to the task at hand.
Poor

Never sings and listens appropriately and cooperates with his/her section as a leader or follower.
Always seems distracted/preoccupied and off task.
General learning attitude

Superior

Exhibits an extremely conscientious and spirited desire to learn the material and clearly progresses in skills. Often displays leadership
Excellent

A willing participant and exhibits willingness to learn concepts and course material. Sometimes displays leadership.
Good

Makes an average effort and seems generally interested in learning.
Needs Improvement

Displays little evidence of improvement in skills or desire to learn about singing.
Poor

Displays no desire to sing or learn and has contributed nothing to his/her own learning or the group's improvement
