Position Statement	Level 1 Position statement is not present or is not about the topic.	Level 2 Position statement is partially present or is not about the topic.	Level 3 Position statement is adequate and audience partially understands the position.	Level 4 Position statement is clear and concise. The audience knows your stance on the topic.
Argument	Level 1 Argument has no opinion and lacks fact or logic.	Level 2 Argument has limited opinion and lacks fact or logic.	Level 3 Argument has some fact or logic to it, but lacks elaboration.	Level 4 Argument is substantiated by fact, details, or logic. Each point should be backed up by three different details.
Organization	Level 1 There is limited organization to the paper. Limited number of sentences and no paragraphs	Level 2 There is very little organization to the paper, if any. Four to five sentences per paragraph.	Level 3 Paper is organized into introduction (with position), argument (body), and conclusion. Seven to eight sentences per paragraph.
