Content-Metaphor	Poor Metaphor is missing, or contains "like" or "as".	Fair Metaphor does not make sense, or make a clear comparison.	Good Metaphor makes a clear comparison.	Excellent Metaphor makes a clear comparison and is creatively written.
Illustration	Poor Student did not illustrate the simile or metaphor. Or, student did not add color to the picture.	Fair Student illustrated only simile or metaphor.	Good Student illustrated both simile and metaphor.	Excellent Student obviously took great care in illustrating and coloring picture.
Machanics	Poor No capital at beginning of sentences, and no punctuation at ending of sentences.	Fair Missing two of either capitals or punctuation.	Good Missing one capital or one period.	Excellent Both sentences begin with a capital and end with a punctuation mark.
