Drum Resurfacing

Drum surface is excessively rough and/or not true; drum diameter is out of specifications and was not measured correctly. Drum was not cleaned.

Drum surface is true, clean and cut correctly with a smooth finish but was installed with diameter out of specifications.

Surface is smooth and true; drum diameter is within specifications. Drum surface has been cleaned and free of finger prints, grease and other contaminants.
Shoe Installation
Poor
Shoes installed in incorrect position (front and rear reversed). Springs missing or not in the proper locations.
Fair
Shoes installed in proper position. Springs not in proper locations. Lack of lubrication on backing plate.
Good
Shoes installed in proper position. Springs in proper locations. Backing plate lubricated.
Wheel Installation
Poor
Wheels installed correctly, but lug nuts left loose.
Fair
Wheels installed correctly, but lug nuts installed backwards and/or torqued inproperly.

Wheels installed correctly, lug nuts installed correctly and torqued properly.
Brake adjustment
Poor
Drum spins freely, several rotations. No adjustments have been made. Adjustment tool not used. Rubber plug missing.

Drum drags, but spins more than one complete rotation(drum to shoe clearance too great). Rubber plug installed.

Drum drags, does not spin more than one rotation (drum to shoe clearance correct). Rubber plug installed.
Safety

Safety glasses and/ or safety shoes were not worn during the service.

Safety glasses were removed during the service.
Good
Safety shoes and safety glasses are worn throughout the service.
Cleanup
Poor
Cleanup was not satisfactory. Dust was not cleaned up using an approved method.
Fair
Dust was removed with an approved recovery system, but cleanup was not complete.
Good
Area was satisfactorily cleaned up and brake dust was removed using an approved recovery system.
