"The Tempest": Picture Poems Poetry Portfolio Students will write three descriptive poems of selected images of "The Tempest" using vocabulary from three word bank handouts (a collection of Shakespearean words and phrases divided into useful descriptive categories. Portfolio Completion	Needs Work Portfolio is missing significant amount of material.	Fair Portfolio has material within it, but is still missing a few or more materials.	Good Portfolio is almost complete, but is still missing one of the materials required to be contained in it.	Excellent Portfolio is one hundred percent completed. All materials are contained within the porfolio.
Creativity	Needs Work Portfolio is very plain and simple looking.	Fair Portfolio has a little creativity, but needs quite a bit more. What is going to make me want to open this?	Good Portfolio looks great, but I still think you can be a little more creative.	Excellent Portfolio is very creative and jumps out at me. It makes me want to open it up and read the contents within.
Poetry Structure	Needs Work Poetry does not follow any known structure.	Fair Poetry follows some structures displayed, but not all.	Good Almost all structures followed completely. Minor errors.	Excellent Poetry has all structures and are structured beautifully.
Descriptive Language	Needs Work Poems contain no descriptive language. Try to appeal to the readers senses.	Fair Poetry contains some descriptive language, but not enough that gets me to think, feel, smell, or see what you are trying to get me to do.	Good Poetry contains a lot of descriptive language. I feel as though I can see all the sensory details, but not all of them.	Excellent Poetry contains great use of descriptive language. Sensory details make me feel, smell, see, hear and taste what you are describing.
