3-Dimensional Model of Our Solar System 
The planets should be in the correct order and relatively proportioned to each other. The sun and planets should be clearly labeled. Students are encouraged to use color and to be creative. This project is worth 100 points and is due April 27th. Each student group will present their project to their class(es), and should be prepared to discuss how their 3-D solar system model was created and to answer questions about the solar system.

Poor

The project's appearance is quite poor. Many distractive elements. Little attempt to add color or originality. Project has sloppy appearance.
Good

The projects' appearance is somewhat poor. Some distractive elements. ie.. handwriting could have been improved. The proportions are close but there are a couple mistakes.
Excellent

Project's appearance is clean and polished with no distractive elements. All planets are correctly proportioned to each other.

Must include the sun, 8 planets, Pluto (dwarf planet), and the asteroid belt.

Poor

Very little or no creativity and sizes were not varied. Minimal color is used. Materials are incomplete and not organized. A lack of effort is apparent.

Some thought has been put into the project. There is some color and the planets are close to their correct color and size. Creativity is not quite there.
Excellent

There is large amounts of creativity being shown. All planets have their correct colors and imagination has been used when designing the solar system model.
