When writing your one paragraph short answer for the exam, this is what your answer will be graded on. Short answer paragraphs are worth ten points each for a total of 50 points.

Question was addressed but not answered sufficiently. Sentences were short with no elaboration. Provided general details, but did not cite specific details in answer. Provided an overview, but lack substance.
Above Average (B)

Question was addressed and answered somewhat sufficiently, as sentences were longer in length with some elaboration. Provided a few general details and included one or two specific details, such as a date, or the last name of a person. Provided a solid overview, but could have elaborated on specific issues in several places.
Excellent (A)

Question was answered correctly with details, such as names, dates, events and people. Sentences provided full details and explanations. Described places, events, and people; provided historical background; demonstrated both breadth and depth of subject/topic
