Approaching Student completed all Survival tasks. Items and explanations demonstrate logic and reasoning. Understanding of what Survival is and what is needed to survive is evident, but needs more detail.	Meeting Student completed all Survival tasks. Items and explanations demonstrate strong logic and reasoning. Understanding of what Survival is and what is needed to survive is clearly communicated.
Personal Challenges #2	Beginning Student has only made 1 comparison between Brian's life and their own. Answer is vague.	Approaching Student has made 2 comparisons between Brian's life and their own.	Meeting Student has made 3 or more comparisons between Brian's life and their own. A clear and concise paragraph.
Spelling/Grammar/Sentence Structure	Beginning Student has difficulty forming sentences with correct spelling and grammar. More than 5 mistakes exist.	Approaching Student has written some good sentences with mostly correct spelling and grammar. Only 3-5 mistakes exist.	Meeting Student has demonstrated strong sentence structure, spelling and grammar. Only 2-3 mistakes exist.
