Fair The topic (main idea) is difficult to figure out and most of the paper is unclear. Topic is too large. Some of the information does not relate to the topic.	Good There is a clear topic (main idea). It is not confusing or vague. The topic is fairly manageable; not too big.	Excellent This paper is crystal clear and one can easily tell what the topic (main idea) is. A focused, narrow, and well-thought out idea!
Specific & interesting details	Poor No real specific or interesting details included. Writing does not relate to a topic of any sort.	Fair There are a few interesting details but the reader must hunt for them. Most of this writing is too general.	Good Some interesting or unusual details stand out. The reader may gain some insight or learn a bit from the specific details included in this paper.	Excellent Carefully chosen interesting details that relate perfectly with the topic. Descriptive details keep the reader motivated.
Knowledge of topic	Poor Not much known about the chosen topic. Seems to be writing to fill space.	Fair Some memory of this topic is shown through the writing. The conclusion sums up the topic successfully by restating the intro differently or using a strong opinion.
