Bullpup (or Fuzzy Critter)Value DRawing 
Students will use a grid to draw a realistic bullpup or some other fuzzy critter using a grid and a photograph. The element of art focused on will be value. Student will lightly draw a grid according to directions, and transfer a realistic bullpup photo into a drawing that uses cross hatching, stippling, and/or blending to show value and form with a pencil. Student will utilize at least 4 values of gray plus white.

Practicing art skills related to showing value (cross hatching, pointllism, and or bending). At least 4 values of gray plus white are evident.

The artwork shows no evidence of practicing requested skills.
Level 2

The artwork shows some evidence of practicing skills.
Level 3

The artwork demonstrates good practicing skills with some creativity . At least three values of gray are evident, plus white.
Level 4

The artwork shows an excellent knowledge and skills related to the elements of art.
Highlights, darkest shades and at least 4 values of grey are present.
Creativity is also demonstrated.
Follows directions

The student follows multi-step directions to create the grid lightly w/ruler, transfer the design, use a pencil to create shades of gray, erase the grid, and mount on construction paper as directed.

Level 1

The student does not follow the directions.
Level 2

The student follows the direction with some deviation.
Level 3

The student follows the project directions .
Level 4

The student follows the directions in an acceptably creative way.
Craftsmanship

Neatness in drawing, erasing unwanted lines, showing value with pencil, and gluing to frame.

Level 1

The student does not neatly use art materials.
Level 2

Craftmanship and neatness is not consistant.
Level 3

The student demonstrates good craftmanship and neatness when using chosen art materials. Grid is seen little.
Level 4

Excellent craftsmanship is demonstrated throughout the process of the project. Grid is not evident.
Attitude/Use of Class Time

Level 1

Student is at times argumentive and/or uninvolved.
Level 2

Student is distracted and /or not doing assignment and needs reminders about task.
Level 3

Student demonstrates good attitude and redirection is rare.
Level 4

Student demonstrates excellent attitude and work skills.
Student Citizenship

Following Class Rules

Level 1

Student has much difficulty following classroom rules.
Level 2

Student needs reminders to follow rules like reading the "Do Now" directions , bringing a pencil, and/or working quietly.
Level 3

Student follow class rules well, redirection is rare.
Level 4

Student follows all classroom rules independently.
