Plot is not well-written and the conflict is not sufficient to draw the reader into the story. The time and place is not suitable for this particular story. The story is not believable.

Plot is not very well-written and has only minor conflict and suspense. It may or may not hold the reader's attention. The time and place are somewhat suitable for the storyline. The story may or may not be believable.

The plot is well-written with sufficient conflict and suspense to hold the readers interest. The time and place is suitable to the storyline. The novel is believable and events that happen are possible for the most part.

The theme is not worthy and no moral values are conveyed. There is no optimism present in the story. There is not use of humor.

The theme may or may not convey moral values. Optimism is present, but not real clear. There may be some humor present in the story.

The theme conveys moral values. The tone is not preachy, but may even convey humor. The theme is worthy and there is optimism within it.
