Rosa Parks Student is to show comprehension of the facts of the story.
	Above Basic Student explains facts using pre-essay formats. 4 pts	Basic Student uses full sentences for responses. 3 pts	Below Basic Student demonstrates minimal knowledge. 2 pts	Far Below Basic Student uses one word or no answers. 1 pts
Who it happened to List the characters in the story.	Above Basic Student lists two main characters and three other characters in the story. Student identifies a missing character in the story.	Basic Student lists the two main characters and two other characters in the story.	Below Basic Student lists three of the characters in the story.	Far Below Basic Student lists only one character in the story.
When and Where it happened Tell the time and place of the story.	Above Basic Student tells time and place using well thought out sentences.	Basic Student tells both time and place with added details using descriptive words.	Below Basic Student gives time and place with no detail.	Far Below Basic Student tells only either time or place, not both.
What Happened Retell the main plot of the story.	Above Basic Student writes a five senteces paragraph telling the basic plot of the story.	Basic Student shows the basic flow of the story with sentences for beginning, middle and end.	Below Basic Student shows beginning, middle and ending thoughts. No depth.	Far Below Basic Student doesn't know the story. i.e. "Its about a boy."
Illustrations	Above Basic The student includes an illustration for each category.	Basic The student includes most of the requires illustrations.	Below Basic The student includes half of the illustrations required.	Far Below Basic Student includes less that half of the required illustrations.
