Spacing and Layout	Excellent work Spacing of letters, rows and words is consistent throughout giving an overall unified feeling to the script. The layout complements the content and occupies the space in a balanced manner.	Fine Work Rows, words, and letters are spaced fairly evenly with' a few mistakes that don't drastically detract from the overall design. The layout is effective allowing the quote to be easily read and understood.	Work is below expectations Rows, words and letters appear to be uneven, of varying sizes, and messy in appearance. The layout appears to be haphazard or random with little to no consideration given to the content.
Formation of letters	Excellent work Student held the pen at 45° angle so that the letters are thick and thin in the correct places. Letters adhere to a 4° letter slope, 5 nib widths for body, ascenders and descenders.	Fine Work Letters are usually thick and thin in the correct places.
