Visual representation of HG and Katniss Visual representation of LWW and Character The studnent will create an original work of art that depicts a setting from the Hunger Games, chapters 1-5. The student will present the creation and explain how the images represent the author's style, genre, or life. In addition the student will present their written diary response relating to the setting created. HG Setting and Katniss's Reflection Project refers to chapters 1-5
	Poor 5 pts	Fair 10 pts	Good 15 pts	Excellent 20 pts
Images	Poor There is no connection, written and visual, between Katniss and the setting of District 12.	Fair There are some images that reflect the story, but there is no written connection between the setting and Katniss.	Good All of the images accurately represent the setting well. The tone of the creation is easily identified OR matches the tone of the selection.	Excellent The images clearly reflect the words of the author and represent District 12 as it was written in the book.
Appearance of Setting	Poor Messy and disorgainzed. The viewer can not recognize the setting.	Fair The appearance is either messy or disorganized. The viewer has a hard time recognizing the setting.	Good Organized and neat. The viewer can easily identify the setting.	Excellent Appearance helps the viewer to understand Katniss's point of view, as well as how the author intended the setting to appear.
Presentation of Setting	Poor Does not explain the connections between the creation and Katniss.	Fair Partially explains the connection between the creation and Katniss	Good Explains the connections between the creation and how Katniss experiences this setting.	Excellent There are creative connections between the appearance of the setting and how Katniss experiences the setting.
Written Response	Poor There is no written response relating to the setting.	Fair There is some explanation for the setting, but it lacks effort and creativity.	Good The response is complete and does well to relate to the setting, but may lack creativity or detail.	Excellent The response clearly depicts Katniss's experiences in District 12 and relates very closely to the setting created.
Presentation of Response	Poor No response is submitted, or it is sloppy and incomplete.	Fair Response is not fully complete, and could look neater and more organized. It may also contain 10 or more spelling errors.	Good Response shows some neatness, has indentation, and contains 5-9 spelling errors.	Excellent Response is neatly submitted with proper indentation. It contains less than 4 spelling errors.
