Rhythm and Movement

Use of rhythm. Students were asked to create an art piece that included the Principles of Design Rhythm and Movement. The visual movement of elements--colors, shapes, lines, values, forms, spaces, textures. Including Regular, Irregular, Staccato, and Progressive Rhythms. There also is evidence of Movement in the work. The viewer's eye is guided through the art.
The students designed the artwork using the assigned over-arching theme.

Exceeding

The art piece has at least two types rhythm and movement that work together in their art project. The work reflects clear attention to detail. Each mark was carefully planned and executed.
The theme that was assigned to the group is clearly evident in the art. The group went above and beyond the requirements for this project.
Meeting

The art piece has only two types rhythm. The work reflects some attention to detail. Marks that were made were planned and executed.
There is movement in the artwork but it is not very intentional.
The theme is present in the project.

The student put forth extraordinary effort to complete the project well as possible. They worked throughout the period on their project. There is also evidence of a lot of planning and group work outside of the classroom. Student went above and beyond what was required for this project.

The student put forth the effort required to complete the project well and used class time well. But there was little evidence that they had productive meetings outside of the classroom.
Minimally Meeting

The student put forth the effort required to finish the project and used class time adequately. If students were more focused on the project's goals, their overall artwork would have been more successful. There was little effort outside of the classroom.
