Although remembers some of dance, little attention paid to how movements are done or other details of dance.

Only some understanding of technical elements (ie. footwork, quality of movements, body positions) demonstrated in performance.

Dance performed with attention to most details of technique, but hasn't attained proficiency in dance style yet.
Excellent/Outstanding
Dance performed with great attention to quality of movement, body position, placement and other details of dance. Also demonstrates an excellent understanding of dance style.

The dancer is not very focused, concentrated or committed to dance piece.
Fair/Average
The dancer is generally focused, but only some attempt made to demonstrate choreography with effort, energy, proper facial expression and movement dynamics.
Good/Above Average
The dancer performs with a good amount of effort, energy, confidence and movement dynamics. Dancer usually has appropriate facial expression.
Excellent/Outstanding
The dancer performs with a great amount of effort, energy, confidence and movement dynamics. Dancer uses appropriate facial expression at all times and exemplifies the vision created within the choreography.
Musicality
Poor/Below Average
Attempts to keep a rhythm, but gets off beat and speeds up or falls behind often. Doesn't follow beat in music.
Fair/Average
Shows a basic understanding of tempo and beat, but falls behind and/or speeds up in places or makes errors in rhythm. Occasionally fills music with movement.
Good/Above Average
Generally accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of dance sequences most of the time. Sometimes fills music with movement.
Excellent/Outstanding
Shows a complete understanding of tempo and beat and stays on rhythm throughout the dance. Fills music with movement, attending greatly to musical dynamics.
Performer Etiquette/Professionalism
Attendance and timeliness
Poor/Below Average
Dancer is absent from either rehearsals or performances and/or neglects to use call time at all.
Fair/Average
Dancer is repeatedly late for calls and uses call time for socializing.
Good/Above Average
Dancer is late no more than once and generally uses call time appropriately.
Excellent/Outstanding
Dancer is on time or early for all calls and uses call time wisely.

Dancer is not prepared with all necessary rehearsal or costume items including shoes, tights, and hair accessories.
Dancer eats, drinks or chews gum in costume.
Dancer prepares at performance to follow guidelines regarding hair, make-up, jewelry and nail polish (or does not follow some guidelines).

Dancer substituted items or does not have all necessary items including shoes, tights, and hair accessories.
