Generally accurate in beat, and rhythms of dance sequences most of the time.

Shows a basic understanding of the beat, but falls behind and/or speeds up in places or makes errors in rhythm.

The dancer communicates his/her dance with thorough effectiveness through eye contact and facial and body expression.
Meeting

The dancer communicates his/her dance with some effectiveness through eye contact and facial and body expression.
Approaching

The dancer communicates his/her dance at various times with every now and then eye contact and facial and body expression.
Beginning

The dancer communicates his/her dance with limited effectiveness through eye contact and facial and body expression..doesn't seem to display any focus.
Effort

Exceeding

Student displays excellent effort in dance by giving 100% focus and energy to the dance.
Meeting

Tries hard and keeps going even if they make a mistake. Has focus but seem unsure at times.
Approaching

Student attempts to move to the rhythm/dance some of the time. Focus comes and goes.
Beginning

Student Doesn't display focus or participation during dance/unit.
