	Exceeding 4 pts	Meeting 3 pts	Approaching 2 pts	Beginning 1 pts
Knowledge of choreography	Exceeding Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the choreography with accuracy. The student is extremely prepared and knows the routine.	Meeting Demonstrates good knowledge of choreography. Keeps up with group. Few errors, however it does not interfere with performance.	Approaching Demonstrates knowledge of choreography. Keeps up with group. Some errors.	Beginning Demonstrates little knowledge of choreography and unsure of movements. Sometimes hesitates, and makes several errors
Rhythm	Exceeding Stays on beat and rhythm throughout the dance.	Meeting Accurate in beat and rhythms of dance sequences throughout the dance.	Approaching Generally accurate in beat, and rhythms of dance sequences most of the time.	Beginning Shows a basic understanding of the beat, but falls behind and/or speeds up in places or makes errors in rhythm.
Performance Skills	Exceeding The dancer communicates his/her dance with thorough effectiveness through eye contact and facial and body expression.	Meeting The dancer communicates his/her dance with some effectiveness through eye contact and facial and body expression.	Approaching The dancer communicates his/her dance at various times with every now and then eye contact and facial and body expression.	Beginning The dancer communicates his/her dance with limited effectiveness through eye contact and facial and body expression..doesn't seem to display any focus.
Effort	Exceeding Student displays excellent effort in dance by giving 100% focus and energy to the dance.	Meeting Tries hard and keeps going even if they make a mistake. Has focus but seem unsure at times.	Approaching Student attempts to move to the rhythm/dance some of the time. Focus comes and goes.	Beginning Student Doesn't display focus or participation during dance/unit.
