Name Design Name Design Students will create a name composition using upper case chalkboard font. The letters will be drawn so that they build a structure with each letter touching another in random order. The letters will be traced with crayon and the spaces formed by the letters painted with watercolors. Drawing font	Poor Letters are not composed of carefully drawn lines. The letters are nor close to the sample size. A combination of upper and lower case letters are used. Mistakes are not erased.	Fair Letters are not drawn carefully. They are of various sizes. Upper case chalkboard font has been used. Mistakes are partially erased.	Good Letters are composed of carefully drawn lines. The letters are of various sizes. Upper case chalkboard font was used. Mistakes have been erased completely.	Excellent Letters are composed of carefully drawn lines. The letters are close to the size of the sample. The chalkboard font in upper case letters has been used. Mistakes have been completely erased.
Tracing	Poor Letters have been traced with little attempt to stay on the pencil lines.	Fair Letters have been traced but there are several places where the pencil lines are still showing.	Good Letters have been traced and areas where the pencil lines weren't traced accurately have been corrected by erasing the pencil lines.	Excellent Letters have been carefully traced with black crayon.
Painting	Poor The shapes formed by the letters are painted. Some paint has run outside of the spaces. No attempt has been made to correct mistakes as instructed. Spilled drops of paint are visible.	Fair The shapes formed by the letters are painted. Some unpainted spaces appear in the shapes. Several of the edges are not straight. No drops of paint are visible.	Good The shapes formed by the letters have been painted neatly and completely. A few of the edges are not straight. No drops of paint are visible.	Excellent The shapes formed by the letters have been painted neatly and completely. No jagged edges or drops of paint are visible.
