Social Movement Timeline
Your group for this assignment can include 2-4 individuals. Choose a social movement: religious turmoil in Ireland/N. Ireland, Civil Rights movement, Nazism/The Holocaust, 1994 genocide in Rwanda, or suicide bombing. This timeline will begin at the formulation of a social movement and end when the social movement reaches a conclusion or is halted by an outside source (although some movements might not yet have an end it sight)! Your timeline should seek to explain the progression of events during a particular social movement. In other words, how does collective behavior escalate this movement? Your timeline must include one of the 'types of collective behavior' discussed in class. Your timeline should also pinpoint FIVE important events of the social movement. You can complete your timeline electronically (on PowerPoint) or by hand (on paper). Either way, make them visually appealing because they will be hanging in our classroom!
