Capitalizes the first word in a sentence but doesn't capitalize all of the proper nouns in the story. Some incomplete sentences.	Good 1 or no errors in punctuation, Capitalizes all but one proper noun, Sentences are complete.	advanced No errors in punctuation, All proper nouns are capitalized, All sentences are complete.
Content	Poor Includes only 1 proper noun of the following: person, place, or thing.	Fair Includes several proper nouns of the following: person, place, thing.	Good Includes 3 proper nouns of the following: person, place, thing.	advanced Includes 4 or more proper nouns of the following: person, place, thing.
Effort	Poor Student writes one or two sentences about the topic.	Fair Student writes 3 sentences about the topic.	Good Student writes 4 sentences about the topic.	advanced Student writes 5 or more sentences about the topic.
