Glue Relief Printmaking 80x2 points
Draw in pencil a line design that does not have any area that is larger than 1/2 inch wide on to a thick cardboard base. Trace over penciled design with a thick line of Elmer's Glue. Allow to dry overnight and apply another line the following day. (A third coat of glue might be advantageous.) When glue is dry, work on preparing the paper for printing by adding some guidelines to the paper. Rough edges of printing paper can also add an artistic touch. You will make 3 copies of your print using colored construction paper. Evenly add finished project to black construction paper to create the look of framing. When you are finished with creating your (3) prints, cover your glued relief in heavy duty aluminum foil. Use a burnishing tool to help the foil into the creases between the glue lines. Paint black india ink over the aluminum foil to add depth to the overall piece of artwork. Very lightly, wipe off excess ink. Add artwork to black construction paper for displaying.
