Learning Fractions with M&M's Learning Fractions with M&M's Students will identify and understand fractions using M&M's. Student's will sort M&M's by color, and then for each color, they will write a fraction in numeric form and longhand. The fractions will represent how many of their M&M's are a specific color. Correctly identified fractions	Poor Student made little to no attempt to understand the concept of sorting M&M's by color and can not identify fractions.	Fair Student showed effort by sorting M&M's correctly but had some difficulty identifying fractions.	Good Student sorted M&M's and was able to correctly identify fractions.
Wrote fractions numerically	Poor Student has no understanding of numerator and denominator. Could not numerically write fractions.	Fair Student showed some understanding of numerator and denominator, and wrote most fractions numerically correct.	Good Student has a strong understanding of numerator and denominator and can write fractions numerically correct.
Wrote fractions long hand	Poor Student has no understanding of how to write out fractions in long hand.	Fair Student has some understanding of how to write fractions in long hand.	Good Student understands how to write fractions in long hand.
