Poem written in correct format	Re do Poem does not use the assigned format.	Incomplete Poem has sections where the format is followed, but there are many mistakes.	Complete Poem follows the proper format for the most part. There may be a few minor errors.	Exceptional Poem follows the "I Am..." format given completely.
Poem expresses writer's feelings	Re do Poem does not reflect the story read.	Incomplete Poem is basic and shows very little reflection. The character's thoughts and/or feelings are not revealed.	Complete Poem shows some evidence of reflection. Parts of the poem may be shallow, but most of the poem expresses some depth and insight.	Exceptional Entire poem shows reflection and expression of feelings on the part of the writer. It gives real insight into the character.
Poem is neatly written	Re do Poem is not neatly written .	Incomplete Poem is neat, but spelling, grammar and format errors make it difficult to read.	Complete Poem is neatly written, but the are several mistakes in spelling, grammar and/or format. Mistakes do not detract from meaning.	Exceptional Poem is neatly written, with few mistakes. Spelling, grammar, and format are, for the most part, correct.
