Tape Measure/Carpenters Square Student will mark out a 2 by 4 with preselected measurements and roof pitches.
	Incomplete Student does not complete assignment. 3 pts	Poor Little understanding. 3.5 pts	Fair Needs improvement in more than two areas. 4 pts	Good Needs improvement in one or two areas. 4.5 pts	Excellent Complete Understanding. 5 pts
Understanding (tape measure) Ability to correctly read a tape measure.	Incomplete Either does not complete the assignment or only completes part.	Poor Only understands a few select markings on the tool.	Fair Is within a eighth of an inch of the given measurements.	Good Is within a sixteenth of an inch on only one or two of the given measurements, rest are correct.	Excellent Makes all the correct markings given by teacher.
Understanding (carpenters square) Ability to correctly read a carpenters square as well use it to mark roof pitches.	Incomplete Student does not attempt to mark out the roof pitch or is off more than thirty-five degrees.	Poor Student understands markings, but is unable to mark the correct side of the angle.	Fair Student is within ten degrees of the given roof pitch.	Good Student is only one or two degrees off the given pitch.	Excellent Student is able to mark out the correct roof pitch.
