Narrative Writing Part II

Topic	Poor Student did not write on the topic.	Fair Student somewhat stayed on the topic for most of the narrative.	Good Student stayed focused on the topic throughout the narrative.
Sequence	Poor Writing is disorganized cannot tell the beginning, middle, and end. No story is conveyed.	Fair Writing tells a story, but is not orderly(beginning. middle, end). The topic is not clearly illustrated throughout the writing.	Good Writing is organized and tells a story. The topic is clear and obvious to the reader.
Capitalization/Punctuation/Spelling	Poor Student has numerous misspelled words and/or numerous capitalization or punctuation mistakes. No indenting of paragraphs. Student did not use correct grammar throughout the narrative.	Fair Student has several misspelled words and/or several capitalization or punctuation mistakes. Randomly formed paragraphs. Student used incorrect grammar but did not take away from the meaning of story.	Good Student few to no misspelled words and/or a few capitalization or punctuation mistakes. Deliberately formed paragraphs. Incorrect if any was minor and did not take away from the meaning of the story.
Length of Narrative	Poor Student did not follow the directions on the length of narrative. narrative is too short.	Fair Student did not follow the directions on the length of narrative.	Good Student followed the directions and wrote the assigned length of narrative.
Neatness	Poor Student paper is unreadable very poor handwriting. If typed the student did not follow directions for typing. Student wrote over the margin line numerous times.	Fair Student paper is readable with some difficulty. If typed student did not follow all the directions for typing. Student sometimes wrote over the margin line.	Good Student narrative is neatly written easy to read. If typed student followed all directions for typing. Student did not write over the margin line.
Heading	Poor No title, name, hour, or date on narrative.	Fair Has a title, but title is not relavent to the writing. The title was not written correctly. First and last name, hour, and date are not written in the top right corner on the first page.	Good Writing has a title that explains what the narrative is about. The title was written correctly. First and last name, hour, and date are written in the top right corner of the first page.
Rubric	Poor Student did not have rubric attached as required.	Fair Student had rubric but was stapled in wrong order.	Good Student had rubric and was stapled in the correct order.
