Title	Weak No title given or title does not align with topic.	Average A title is given, but is broad and general.	Strong The title is clear and speaks to the thesis.
Thesis should be 25 words or less	Weak Thesis not mentioned or is vague.	Average Thesis is stated. However it needs more development . Thesis is wordy	Strong Thesis statement is clearly stated with certainty. Intriguing and grabs readers attention Thesis is 25 words or less and clearly states the area, or areas, covered by in a clear, authoritative manner.
Format: APA or MLA style	Weak Outline formatting not used or MLA or APA sequence not present.	Average Outline mostly follows format with Roman numerals, etc. Format does not have a uniform MLA or APA sequence throughout	Strong Follows APA or MLA order with the uses of Roman numerals for headings/ subtopics, capital letters and numbers for supporting info. Format is easy to follow.
