VISUAL ART: Journal Drawings Students are to create quality Journal drawings that use a nine by twelve inch paper. There must be no more than ten percent white of the page and the drawing can be any medium, style and subject that the student chooses. QUALITY	Poor Sketchy quality. Not ready for presentation on the wall. does not adequately fill the page.	Fair Drawing quality. Uses material adequatley. Subject is defined and good artistic interpretation of subject.	Good Excellent quality. Mastery of skill. All picture plane intelligently used. Meaningful and skilled use of medium.
MEDIUM	Poor poor choice of medium in relation to drawing subject.	Fair medium and drawing subject match adequately.	Good medium is very well matched with both style and subject matter.
VISUAL COMMUNICATION	Poor Disconnected areas of picture that do not communicate effectively.	Fair Drawing has an adequately unified visual message on the picture plane.	Good Picture is fully integrated in terms of subject, style and content, thereby communicating a powerful and evocative visual message.
