Textured Mug
Students will be constructing a tall vase from larger clay coils and knitting them together to create a seamless vase from a sketch they create.

Student creatively designed a completed vase that included at least one decorative element: texture, incising, sprigging, stamping, etc... that incorporated throughout the entire vase.
Neatness in Sculpting & vase form width

Sculpture turned out messy and uneven. Student broke their final piece. Vase has straight walls and no curves.

Sculpture has a few uneven rough areas, parts could have been smoothed out and worked on more. Vase show little curves.

Sculpture is neatly and carefully done. All parts of the sculpture stayed together until the end. The vase shows curve in the form getting narrow and then wider, or opposite wider and then narrow. Vase is not just a straight wall.

The vase was more than an inch outside of the size guidelines. The vase was made much too large or much too small.

The vase does not meet the instruction guidelines, and the structure is just one inch outside of the guidelines. vase height was under 9 in.

The vase was kept within the instruction guidelines of not being more than 12 in. tall or 12 in. wide. The vase met the height requirement of 9 in.
Glazing

Colors are applied incompletely or carelessly. Colors are distracting.
Good
Colors are glazed carefully, completely, and are appropriate for the sculpture. A few spots weren't completely covered with glazed. Glaze looks thin, like more layers could have been added.
Excellent
Student went above and beyond for glazing their project, making their sculpture excellent. All parts were glazed.
Directions
Fair
Student did not have a finished sculpture. Student did not always follow directions.
Good
Student didn't follow all the directions, there were some issues with the construction of the sculpture. There is no name on the bottom of the vase.
Excellent
Student followed all directions involving: cleaning, storing clay projects, writing their name on project, and instructions creating a completed vase
