Daily Performance Piano Assessment 9-12 Daily Performance Piano Assessment 9-12 Students perform music (on piano) demonstrating the required technical skills, and the ability to model proper posture and technique, alone or with others. Students apply accumulated knowledge of musical notation, symbols, and terminology to perform music with increasingly greater complexity. Daily Performance Assessment
	Does not meet the standard 1 pts	Partially meets the standard 2 pts	Meets the Standard 3 pts	Exceeds the Standard 4 pts
Steady Beat and Rhythm	Does not meet the standard Student does not understand the concept of steady beat and rhythm. There were many pauses and hesitations during the performance as well as many incorrect rhythms.	Partially meets the standard Student plays some of the selection with a steady beat but there were 3 or more pauses or hesitations during the performance. Some to most rhythms were played correctly.	Meets the Standard Student mostly plays selection with a steady beat. There were 1 or 2 pauses or hesitations during the performance. Most to all of the rhythms were played correctly.	Exceeds the Standard Student plays selection with a steady beat throughout the ENTIRE performance. There were NO pauses or hesitations. ALL rhythms were played correctly as well.
Pitch	Does not meet the standard Student does not understand the concept of pitch. Little to no pitches were played accurately during the performance.	Partially meets the standard Student plays some of the pitches accurately but there were 3 or more pitch mistakes during the performance.	Meets the Standard Student plays most pitches accurately but there were 1 or 2 pitch mistakes during the performance.	Exceeds the Standard Student plays ALL pitches accurately throughout the entire performance.
Technique & Posture	Does not meet the standard Student does not sit with a straight back, eyes on the music , curved fingers and good control of tone during the performance. Student exhibits 0-1 out of 4.	Partially meets the standard Student sits with a straight back, eyes on the music times, curved fingers and good control of tone during some of the performance. Student exhibits 2 out of 4.	Meets the Standard Student mostly sits with a straight back, eyes on the music , curved fingers and good control of tone during the majority of the performance. Student exhibits 3 out of 4.	Exceeds the Standard Student sits with a straight back, eyes on the music at all times, curved fingers and good control of tone throughout the entire performance. Student must exhibit 4 out 4.
