The intonation is secure and pitches are mostly accurate. There are a few incorrect pitches or intonation errors.

Intonation is somewhat inconsistent. Some pitches are accurate, but there are frequent and/or repeated errors.

Performance is consistenly out of tune. Very few accurate pitches. Performance lacks solid preparation of pitch/melody.

Student articulates clearly and the text is easily understood. (All vowels and consonants are clearly formed.)

Student articulates the words somewhat clearly and most of the txt is understood. (Most of the vowels and consonants are clearly formed, but a few final consonants are missing.)

Student sometimes articulates the words, but the words of the text often lack clear beginning and ending consonant sounds.
Needs Improvement
Student rarely articulates the words and the text is not intelligible.
Musicianship/Interpretation
Superior
Performs with creative interpretation of the style of music. Uses accurate dynamic levels.

Typically performs with an interpretation and style suggested by instructor.

Dynamic levels are inconsistent and performed with some interpretation, but not consistently.

Attention to dynamics is lacking from the performance. Performer rarely demonstrates expression, simply performs the notes.
