Sound That Tells a Story 
For this project students will develop a storyboard reel that will allow them to present their storyboards an audience. The students will use a variety of software and online learning tools to complete this project. Students’ will technically capture, create and add sound as well as demonstrate how they will express an idea and or feeling to add to their storytelling through pre-visualization (storyboards).

Formative Assessment
The formative criteria are to be assessed as students are working on their projects. Assessment is coming from peers and teacher through one-on-one collaboration, class discussions and Moodle forums.
Originality

Origination of sound, ability to explain how they were created/captured.

I am able to easily and clearly explain how my sounds were created and or captured. The sounds are original or meet acceptable use guidelines and show relevance to my project.

I can explain how my sounds were created and or captured. I gave little effort to creating original sounds but I used media that met acceptable use guidelines.

Sound quality is poor. Sounds could be improved in quality. Level in volume is rarely consistent. Audience is often questioning what they heard and what purpose the sound served for the reel.

Does the pacing and timing of the reel lend itself to the telling of the story?

The pacing and timing of the reel is excellent and helps deliver the story effectively.

The pacing and timing of the reel is good clearly telling the story.

The pacing and timing of the reel is acceptable. Some of the timing is off detracting from the story.

Adjusting frame rate only to meet the length specifications is not acceptable.
