	Beginning 1 pts	Progressing 2 pts	Achieved 3 pts
Represents Addition and Subtr.	Beginning Uses the correct numbers but does not show knowledge of writing a number sentence.( Adding the numbers incorrectly.)	Progressing Demonstrates knowledge of a number sentence using addition.	Achieved Demonstrates the knowledge of a number sentence for both addition and subtraction.
Use a Strategy such as taking away	Beginning There is little or no evidence of a strategy being used.	Progressing There is evidence of a strategy being used. (circling the largest and or using tally marks for the smaller numbers.) May or may not contain a drawing.	Achieved There is evidence of one or two strategies being used. *tally marks, circling the largest number, drawing a picture.
