Writing a Paragraph

Supporting Details	1 Paragraph includes 0-1 supporting details to support the main idea.	2 Paragraph includes 2 supporting details that support the main idea.	3 Paragraph includes 3-4 supporting details that clearly support the main idea.
Punctuation	1 Many capitalization and punctuation errors.	2 Only a few errors of capitalization or punctuation.	3 Grade level appropriate grammar is used: capital letters at the beginning of sentences and for proper nouns and correct punctuation is used.
Spelling	1 Many spelling errors.	2 Few spelling errors.	3 Grade level appropriate words are spelled correctly, including sight words.
Organization	1 Paragraph is difficult to read due to no clear organization of ideas. Also paragraph does not give the reader a clear understanding of the topic.	2 Paragraph is written in a way that the reader understands the topic, but the reader must reread the paragraph or parts of the paragraph to understand.	3 Overall paragraph is easy to read and allows the reader to clearly understand the topic.
