Grading Elements
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 4 pts
Performance Accuracy	Poor Dynamics and articulation are not played correctly or at all. Performance does not reflect written score.	Fair Some dynamics and articulation are played correctly. Performance somewhat reflects written score.	Good Most dynamics and articulation are played correctly. Performance mostly reflects written score.	Excellent All dynamics and articulation are played correctly. Performance accurately reflects written score.
Notation Accuracy	Poor Composition score is sloppy with incorrect markings and notation.	Fair Score is neat and clearly written. Markings and notations are somewhat accurate.	Good Score is neat and clearly written. Markings and notations are mostly accurate.	Excellent Score is neat and clearly written. All markings and notations are accurate.
Expressive Content	Poor Composition displays minimal or no elements of expression.	Fair Composition displays few expressive elements that evoke mood and feeling.	Good Composition displays several expressive elements that evoke mood and feeling.	Excellent Composition displays definite recognizable expressive elements that evoke mood and feeling.
Articulation	Poor Composition utilizes 1 type of articulation or less. Articulation markings displayed incorrectly in the score.	Fair Composition correctly utilizes only 1 type of articulation. Some articulation markings correctly displayed in the score.	Good Composition correctly utilizes only 2 types of articulation. Most articulation markings correctly displayed in the score.	Excellent Composition correctly utilizes 3 or more types of articulation. All articulation markings correctly displayed in the score.
Dynamics	Poor Composition uses 1 or less dynamic levels. Dynamic markings incorrectly displayed in the score.	Fair Composition correctly uses only 1 dynamic level.
