Fair The article contains a lead but it is not interesting and/or has simple supporting details(2) in the a beginning, middle, and/or end.	Good The article contains an interesting/exciting lead using some relevant supporting details in the . beginning, middle, and/or end. The article ends abruptly.	Excellent The article begins with an exciting lead, followed by specific and relevant supporting details in the beginning, middle, and end. The article does not end abruptly.
Conventions	Poor The article is vague and unclear. Thare are more than 7 errors in spelling, punctuation, capitalization, or grammar.	Fair The article contains few sentences that are unclear to the reader. There are between 4-6 errors in spelling, punctuation, capitalization, or grammar.	Good The article is clear and concise. There are between 1-3 errors in spelling, punctuation, capitalization, or grammar.	Excellent Writing is descriptive and provides detailed information. An extensive vocabulary is used. There are no errors in spelling, punctuation, capitalization, or grammar.
