Capitalization & Punctuation Uses correct capitalization and punctuation skills.	Unacceptable Does not use correct capitalization and punctuation skills.	Needs Improvement Uses some capitalization and punctuation.	Meets Standard Uses correct capitalization and punctuation most of the time.	Exemplary Uses correct capitalization and punctuation all of the time.
Usage of Appropriate Vocabulary Essay contains the usage of comparing and contrasting vocabulary.	Unacceptable There are no examples of comparing and contrasting vocabulary usage.	Needs Improvement 2-3 examples of comparing and contrasting vocabulary are present.	Meets Standard 4-5 examples of comparing and contrasting vocabulary are present.
