Students describe their product or current event. They will have 15 minutes to prepare and could keep notes to assist them in reading.

Student spoke loudly and clearly with good tone. Spoke fluently, without hesitation or repetition.
Good

Student spoke clearly but at times faded out. Spoke somewhat fluently with some hesitation or repetition.

Student was hard to hear. Lacking fluency - spoke with too much hesitation or repetition.
Poor

Student was very difficult to hear. Unacceptable level of fluency- numerous hesitations, long pauses and repetitions.

Practically no errors. Student shows an excellent command of grammar for his/her level.
Good

Sporadic errors. Student shows a developing command of structures studied and may self-correct while speaking

Several errors. Student makes several errors including common agreement errors, but these do not obscure the main points

Numerous errors interfere with communication and cause difficulty in understanding.

Excellent

Student pronounced all words correctly and could be easily understood.
Good

Almost all words were pronounced correctly with the exception of a few, which did not impede comprehension.
Fair

Several words were pronounced incorrectly--comprehensible with considerable effort on the part of the listener.
Poor

Many words were pronounced incorrectly or could not be understood--often incomprehensible.
