Artwork

Create artwork using black ink on tracing paper.
Cut second color artwork using amberlith film to fit original making sure to create an overlap (trap) on the colors.

Poor

Artwork not solid black. Line thicknesses not appropriate for textiles. Incorrect cutting of amberlith film. Failure to overlap artwork correctly.

Artwork solid black but areas for color trap inadequate. Line thickness not appropriate for textiles. Amberlith cut cleanly but overlap for trapping unevenly cut.

Artwork solid black, areas for color appropriate and line thickness good. Amberlith cut cleanly and overlap for trapping cut correctly.

Tape improperly applied leaving gaps for ink leakage. Screen not positioned on press to put image in register. Color pallet incorrect for artwork or garment.

Taping properly done but used where not needed. Screen mounted in register but off center. Pallet corrct size but mounted on press improperly.
Good

Taping well done and correct. Screen mounted squarely on press an in register. Pallet size for project is appropriate.
Excellent

Taping smooth and complete with no gaps. Clean application. Screen mounted squarely on press and in perfect register. Pallet is correct size and marked for positioning on textile.
Printing

Choosing correct ink and mixing correct color. Mix ink to proper consistency. Print the design in exact register on the textile in the desired position.

Poor

Image out of register. Wrong ink selection and ink too thick. Poor print quality due to squeegee pressure or off contact.
Fair

Image slightly out of register. moderate ink quality. Ink consitency issues. Poor positioning of image.
Good

Image in register but some slight printing issues due to ink consistency and squeegee pressure. Positioning good.
Excellent

Image perfectly registered. Final image is positioned just right and all colors clearly printed. Clean overall job.
