African Folktale Project Grading Rubric 
Groups will collaborate and create a presentation to share with the class. Each group will present a chosen African Folktale and relevant research to the class. Grading will be based upon the effort/quality of your work, the project style/mechanics, your research, presentation to the class, and your group evaluations. Members within the same group may receive different grades based upon their individual contributions, completion of required evaluations, attendance, as well as other contributing factors.

Good

The work was done with good effort that shows the necessary level of group competence. It is evident that time was put into the project.
Excellent

The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the group is proud of their work. The effort that was put into this task is the best it can be by the group.
Style/Mechanics

Failed

The group made no attempt.
Poor

The presentation lacks a clear under-standing of the subject matter. The presentation is not creative.
Fair

The presentation lacks style and reads more like a list of facts. The presentation lacks neatness and clarity.
Good

The presentation has creativity and style with a good understanding of the subject.
Excellent

The presentation has an element of creativity and style, and is not just a list of facts. The presentation is presented in a clear and concise manner with full under-standing of the subject.
Research

Failed

The group made no attempt.
Poor

Not enough preparation was done for the presentation of the information, it therefore lacks many elements of what is expected.
Fair

The information presented is not clearly displayed throughout the project.
Good

The group presented the information fairly clearly and displayed a reasonable understanding of their information.
Excellent

The group presented the information clearly and displayed a complete understanding of their information. It is evident that the group was well prepared.
Presentation

Failed

The group made no attempt at engagement, activity, interactivity, participant collaboration, or the necessary assessment of student learning.
Poor

The group presentation was poorly explained, unclear, or was not appropriate for the student audience. The presentation did not accomplish the project objectives.
Fair

The group presentation was engaging, interesting, and even fun. Some aspects of the presentation were unclear, or were not directly related to the project objectives.
Good

The group was engaged throughout the presentation. The presentation was, for the most part, clear and accomplished the presentation objectives.
Excellent

The group was fully engaged throughout the presentation. Expectations were clear, activities were appropriate, and the group clearly met presentation objectives.
Evaluation

Failed

Did not complete evaluations.
Poor

Completed a minimum amount of the evaluations.
Fair

Partially completed evaluations.
Good

Completed most of the evaluations.
Excellent

Completed all of the evaluations
