Algebra Idol: The Quadratic Formula Pythagorean Project You will be singing the quadratic formula in an "American Idol" type of competition. You can work by yourself or in a small group, and we will compete in two weeks for a prize. Pythagorean Project
	Excellent 100 pts	Average 50 pts	Poor 25 pts
Practice Work	Excellent All worksheet pages are in order, complete and at least 80% accurate. Your name is on all pages.	Average You have most of the worksheet pages and at least 75% of the work is complete. 50% of the problems are solved correctly. Your name is on all pages.	Poor You have some of the worksheet pages and at least 50% of the work is completed. Less than 25% of the problems are solved correctly, and your name is on at least 1 page, but not on all pages.
Notes	Excellent You have clearly stated what the CA Standard is, what the objective is, and have written the information in a clear, easy to follow format. Notes are dated, and have been written for every day of class during the unit. Closing summaries are in complete sentances.	Average You are missing pages or information. You have the CA Standard and objective written on most of your notes. Closing summaries are incomplete.	Poor You have not written the objective, date, or CA Standard on your notes, but you do have some important information written down. You do not include closing summaries.
Musical Presentation	Excellent You know the quadratic formula and use the lyrics to demonstrate or teach the formula. You have the lyrics memorized, and have a well rehearsed performance. Note: This is not about being the best singer. This is about knowing the formula and creating an entertaining performance. Be Creative!	Average Your performance is lacking energy. You stumble over parts of the formula, or we cannot hear you when you are performing your song.	Poor You do not know the formula, and either need cue cards or a script to perform from. You do not seem well rehearsed, and cannot follow the music. We have trouble recognizing the formula, and your performance is full of laughing, "Um"s, or incomplete.
Lyrics	Excellent Neatly written and complete, referencing the melody or music you are using.	Average Scribbled lyrics, difficult to read, but still complete and referencing the melody or music used.	Poor Sloppy, incomplete, and does not reference the melody or music used.
