SC.3.E.5.4

Explore the Law of Gravity by demonstrating that gravity is a force that can be overcome.

Level 4

Student showed exemplary work and did above the necessary requirements for demonstrating that gravity is a force that can be overcome.
Level 3

Student met the mandatory amount of information needed for demonstrating that gravity is a force that can be overcome.
Level 2

Student missed one piece of information needed for demonstrating that gravity is a force that can be overcome.
Level 1

Student showed very minimal effort in demonstrating that gravity is a force that can be overcome.
Level 0

Student did not complete assigned task.
1.7c Project Teams

When completing this project and in-class presentation, work on it with a partner. Students enjoy and contribute to group activities a lot more efficiently in order to achieve their common goal.

Level 4

Student showed exemplary team effort by contributing to their group to achieve a common goal
Level 3

Student met the mandatory amount of team effort by contributing to their group, when needed, to achieve a common goal
Level 2

Student could have contributed more, but was still engaged to achieve their groups common goal.
Level 1

Student showed very minimal effort in contributing to their group to achieve a common goal.
Level 0

Student did not complete assigned task.
Essential Question

Was the Essential Question answered?

"How can we show that gravity is a force that can be overcome?"

Also, why does gravity pull certain objects faster to the ground? Does air resistance play a factor in keeping certain objects in the air longer?

Level 4

Student showed exemplary work and did above the necessary requirements for answering how we can show that gravity is a force that can be overcome?
Level 3

Student met the mandatory amount of information needed for answering how we can show that gravity is a force that can be overcome?
Level 2

Student missed one piece of information needed for answering how we can show that gravity is a force that can be overcome?
Level 1

Student showed very minimal effort in answering how we can show that gravity is a force that can be overcome?
Level 0

Student did not complete assigned task.
Presentation

As a result of this investigation, students will be able to create a powerpoint on the laws of gravity and how they constructed their experiment. A prediction, data chart of their results, and an explanation on how gravitational pull varied between the three objects must be present.

Level 4

Student showed exemplary work and did above the necessary requirements for explaining their investigation results during their in-class presentation.
Level 3

Student met the mandatory amount of information needed for explaining their investigation results during their in-class presentation.
Level 2

Student missed one piece of information needed for explaining their investigation results during their in-class presentation.
Level 1

Student showed very minimal effort in explaining their investigation results during their in-class presentation.
Level 0

Student did not complete assigned task.
