Emotional Self-Portraits and Presentation Rubric 
Students will draw two representational drawing of themselves expressing two different emotions. Students will present self-portraits to the class.

Emotions Self-Portraits

Ability to draw characteristics of two different emotions. Ability to use many colors that are appropriate for the representation/feature colored.

Pre-conventional

Random scribbles no connection to emotions. Color selections are minimal and inappropriate for the representation colored.
Emerging

The student draws minimal facial characteristics (eyes, nose and mouth). Students uses 3 colors and some are used appropriately for the representation colored.
Progressing

The student draws 4-5 characteristics on each of the faces. Students uses 4-5 colors and most are appropriate for the representation colored.
Well Developed

The student draws 6 or more characteristics on each face with 5 or more appropriate colors for the representation colored.
Presention

Ability to identify the emotion and describe/explain why their drawing represents chosen emotion.

Pre-conventional

Student communicates it is images of himself/herself. Student not able to identify how he/she is feeling in the portraits.
Emerging

Student communicates it is images of himself/herself. Student is able to identify two different emotions for each portraits.
Progressing

Student communicates it is images of himself/herself. Student is able to identify two different emotions for each portraits and accurately describes one of the emotions of a portrait.
Well Developed

Student communicates it is a images of himself/herself. Student is able to identify and accurately describe 2 different feelings for each portraits.
