	Excellent 10 pts	Satisfactory 8 pts	Needs Work 6 pts	Lack of Understanding 4 pts
Poem Theme Praises a Subject	Excellent Student expresses praise for their theme by describing it's function, characteristics, and physicality.	Satisfactory Theme is stated but not well developed. Theme is addressed but poem loses focus and doesn't embody the theme.	Needs Work Theme is present but very little praise is offered. No description into it's characteristics or physicality	Lack of Understanding Poem has no connection to selected them
Length/Structure	Excellent The ode written is 12 or more lines long. Strophe, antistrophe, and epode stanzas are clearly identified.	Satisfactory The ode is 10 lines long. Strophe, antistrophe, and epode stanzas are present.	Needs Work The ode is less than 8 lines long. Strophe, antistrophe, and epode stanzas are not clear to follow	Lack of Understanding The ode is less than 6 lines The strophe, antistrophe, and epode structure are not followed.
Eloquent Language	Excellent Language is dignified and eloquent. There is no repetition of words, but synonyms are visible. Examples of sensory language. Poem has no grammar errors	Satisfactory Language is mostly dignified and eloguent. There is repetition of eloquent words. Evidence of sensory language. Poem has few grammar errors	Needs Work There is little evidence of eloquent, dignified, sensory language. Poem has many grammar errors.	Lack of Understanding No evidence of sensory language.
