Facts and details	Poor Student writes only one fact and it is not able to be read fluently.	Fair Student writes two facts and there is difficulty when reading.	Good Student provides three facts that have been found during reading. Each fact can be understood with some grammatical errors.	Excellent Student provides more than three facts based on reading. Each fact can be read fluently and understood.
Mechanics	Poor Student does not show understanding of punctuation, capitalization, or spelling.	Fair Student has 3 - 5 errors in spelling and/or punctuation and capitalization.	Good Student has 1 or 2 errors in spelling and/or punctuation and capitalization.	Excellent Student has all punctuation and capitals in place. There are no errors in spelling.
