Beginning Guitar Class Composition 
Students will use common rhythms and simple melodic gestures to compose a 2 measure composition in 4/4 time. Students will also turn in a self reflection describing the cognitive process they used in developing their composition. Students must be able to perform the composition on guitar.

Rhythm and melody flow well together and the song makes musical sense with regards to the time signatures and key signatures. Phrases and cadences make logical sense.

The rhythm and melody complete the entire song and there is a strong melodic and rhythmic flow. Rhythm and melody work together to produce a pleasing piece that takes us on a journey through development of material.
